To shed light on the development process and what players can expect from this mobile adaptation, we sat down with the project leader of Cabal Mobile’s original development team.

Q: Cabal Mobile has been available in South Korea for five years and is now about to be launched in Taiwan. How do you feel now?

Project Leader: I feel incredibly honored. The development team and DiGeam.com have put in tremendous effort to ensure a successful launch, and we’re excited to introduce Cabal Mobile to players in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Q: What is the biggest challenge in porting the classic online game IP “Cabal” to the mobile platform?

Project Leader: Adapting the game interface as well as the controlling from PC to mobile was undoubtedly the most challenging aspect. We spent considerable time simplifying and redesigning the interface to ensure a seamless gaming experience on mobile devices.

The game interface of the mobile version has been made with many adjustments, including the display method of items in the Inventory, the relative position of the battle system buttons, etc.

Q: “Cabal Mobile” achieved good results when it was launched in South Korea. What features do you think made this game successful in the mobile game market?

Project Leader: The success of Cabal Mobile in South Korea can be attributed to its ability to capture the essence of the original game while optimizing for mobile gameplay. We think that, the main concept of Cabal Mobile is for letting players experience the long-term popular game but with more fast-pace and additional convenient features. We’ve continuously listened to player feedback and made enhancements to ensure a polished experience for players in Taiwan.

Q: Cabal Mobile has added many convenient automatic functions such as “automatic pathfinding” and “automatic combat”. What are the team’s considerations for such settings?

Project Leader: Mobile gaming presents unique challenges, such as fatigue from prolonged manual play. Our automatic functions aim to enhance player convenience while preserving the core Cabal experience. We’ve carefully studied player behavior and preferences to implement features that enhance gameplay without compromising depth.

“Dungeon” is one of the most core feature of Cabal, for improving the convenience, we added auto-play feature for many dungeons

Q: During the transition process, were there any trade-offs between “preserving the original style” and “adapting to the mobile game market”?

Project Leader: Preserving the essence of Cabal while adapting to the mobile market was a delicate balance. We’ve strived to maintain the integrity of the original game while making necessary adjustments to optimize for mobile play.

Q: Compared with other MMORPGs on the market, does “Cabal Mobile” have any more innovative content or adjustments?

Project Leader: Cabal Mobile introduces exclusive content such as the “Raid Map – Fractured War” and unique enhancements and items. We’re committed to providing players with fresh experiences while staying true to the Cabal universe.

Q: In “Cabal Mobile,” are there classic combat modes such as combos and 3 different Battle Modes for players to enjoy?

Project Leader: Absolutely. We’ve revamped the core combat system for mobile devices, introducing a new UI interface for seamless gameplay. Players can expect to experience the familiar combo system and Battle Modes.

Q: In terms of future development plans, is it possible to launch special class, or special maps and dungeons exclusive to “Cabal Mobile”?

Project Leader: The main storyline remains faithful to the original game, with additional exclusive content planned for Cabal Mobile (like Raid Map, Abyss Arena, special Chaos Upgrade…). We’ll continue to expand upon the game with new dungeons, PVP modes, and more.

Q: “Cabal Mobile” is loved by many players around the world. Is it possible to open exchange activities between international players in the future?

Project Leader: While challenges exist in facilitating cross-border player exchanges, we’re exploring ways to create a global community for Cabal Mobile players. We’re committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive gaming environment.

“Cabal” is a worldwide famous franchise, any chance for playing without borders, between regions? Well developers are also working on this.

Q: The pre-registration gift for this Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau version – the exclusive pet “Fat Zai” – is a pet that was launched after localization. Are there plans to continue launching localized exclusive content in the future?

Project Leader: We understand the importance of localization and plan to introduce more exclusive content tailored to the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau market. From special clothing to themed events, players can look forward to a wealth of localized content in future updates.

Q: Finally, as Cabal Mobile is about to meet players in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, what message do you have for the players?

Project Leader: Thank you to all the players in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau for your support and enthusiasm. We’re excited to embark on this journey with you and promise to deliver a gaming experience that exceeds your expectations.
